In the Heart of Glastonbury

Queen of Cups is a 17th century coaching inn, turned modern Middle Eastern restaurant with skilfully and uniquely curated sharing plates created by the talented Executive Chef and co-founder Ayesha Kalaji.

The restaurant has been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand and was shortlisted for ‘best newcomer’ at the Estrella Damm Top 100 Gastropubs 2023. Ayesha was named winner of the Middle Eastern Food of the Year category at the BIH Spotlight Awards 2022.

The name Queen of Cups originates from the art of Tarot Card reading – an homage to the mystical history of Glastonbury which still lives on today. The character symbolises feminine energy, emotional connection and compassion all of which make up the ethos and heart of the restaurant.

Chef Ayesha Kalaji

Taking influence from her Jordanian roots via Wales and London and now based in Glastonbury, our Executive Chef and owner Ayesha Kalaji has a totally distinctive and exciting style of cooking, serving her own interpretation of Middle Eastern Dishes: “This is food seen through my lens. I use local produce and ingredients to create food that feels true to myself, my area and my ideas.” Diners can expect gloriously colourful and delicious dishes on seasonally changing menus.

Private Dining

Parties of up to 12 persons can enjoy our intimate private dining room for their special events.  Like the rest of Queen of Cup, the décor is a mixture of the old and the new, dramatic, colourful and quirky. Although the food and drink is serious, the atmosphere is fun and full of joy.
